bbq

had a mini bbq party with good pals at
chervon jurong last saturday.

this is not "zhen zi" setting the bbq fire. this is me, an ex-girl guide trying to set fire. in any case, i set the fire on the wrong level of the pit!! i wonder did anyone from the nearby pits saw me making this stupid mistake.usually, we will eat the very standard food at bbq...chicken wings, fishballs, mee hoon, etc.
so this time round, i prepared some "unusual" food. inspiration came from my visit to a japanese yakitori restaurant.
baby tomatoes wrapped with bacon strips
asparagus wrapped with bacon strips
tip on preparation: rinse the bacon strips in water
once so it will not be too salty for comsumption.

taiwan sausages
mini portobello mushroom with cheese

all my friends love the unusual ones and the after taste lingers in their mind until now.
